Below are post-adoption and guardianship support services available to families who live in Pennsylvania. Services may not be available in all areas and/or may be dependent upon the circumstances of the placement. Post-adoption/guardianship support services
The Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) offers support groups to any family who has either adopted or has a formal kinship and permanent legal custodianship of children from Pennsylvania's child welfare system. To access support groups and other post permanency services, families should call the toll-free SWAN Helpline at 800-585-7926.

In addition, TRAC Services for Families has an extensive adoption and foster care library that includes books, tapes, and articles that are available to the public. For information on TRAC’s library location and hours, how to borrow in-person and by mail, and what they have, call 412-471-8722.
Parent support groups
Below are support groups for adoptive, kinship, and foster families. Support groups may be offered as part of a state’s post-adoption/guardianship support program, through a statewide or regional foster or adoptive parent association, through specific agencies, or may be run independently. If we have additional information about the group’s purpose or the community served, it’s provided under the group’s contact information.
