About Lawson
Meet Lawson, an eight-year-old with an incredible heart, a thoughtful nature, and a maturity that often surprises the adults around him. His teacher describes him as a fantastic student who works hard and cares deeply about others. Lawson loves school, church, his sister, and anything involving monster trucks. He is happy, resilient, and thoughtful, and he has shown remarkable bravery throughout his life.
Lawson enjoys being active, loves running, and playing basketball, but some of his favorite activities are a little different. He is happiest when he can get his hands dirty, whether he is helping with farm activities or learning about cars. He also hopes to become a Boy Scout one day. Lawson has a curious mind and enjoys sharing what he knows with the people around him.
Relationships are especially important to Lawson. He shares a close bond with his sister, and maintaining and supporting that connection will be an important part of his life. He also responds well to positive male role models, including older boys and men, and likes the idea of having a big brother. At the same time, Lawson enjoys the nurturing and affection of a caring female caregiver. He appreciates a good hug and the reassurance that comes from knowing someone is there for him.
Lawson may need time and patience to feel comfortable with new adults. Building trust will be important, and he does best when adults take the time to listen to his concerns and help him feel heard. Once Lawson feels safe and connected to someone, he has a lot of love and loyalty to give. He needs adults who will remain patient, listen, and help him in times of need.
Lawson may do best in a smaller family where he can receive consistent attention and have space to build strong relationships at his own pace. His family will need to understand that trust takes time, and that consistency, patience, and follow-through can help him feel secure. Most importantly, Lawson needs caregivers who will see the wonderful young person he is while giving him the time and support he needs to develop a lasting sense of belonging.
Lawson has so much to share with the people who take the time to know him. From his knowledge about cars and farming to his love of basketball, monster trucks, and the outdoors, there is plenty to discover about this thoughtful young man. A family who can offer him patience, stability, encouragement, and meaningful connections may find that Lawson has plenty of love, loyalty, and adventures to share including, perhaps, grabbing a fishing pole together and seeing where the day takes them.
