About Bentley
Bentley (September 2016) is a very loving, polite and respectful child that has a radiant personality. Bentley values having a routine and would benefit from a structured and hands on environment. Bentley loves to be involved in day-to-day activities. He enjoys being outdoors as well as playing sports.
Bentley keeps himself occupied with his many interests. He loves to compete with same age peers in video games. He also loves to play cards and board games. He can fit in with any age group. Previous foster parents have said that one of Bentley’s favorite pass times is watching old TV sitcoms. Bentley is extremely passionate about his favorite character, Sonic the Hedgehog and collects Sonic memorabilia. Bentley also thoroughly enjoys spending time outdoors riding his bicycle and scooter. He loves nothing more than a McDonalds cheeseburger and an ice-cold Coca Cola.
Bentley wins you over with his bright smile. He loves to give and receive affection in the form of lots of hugs. He is well mannered, soft spoken and easily communicates with adults as well as same age peers. Bentley likes to have control in situations and can communicate his likes and dislikes effectively. This has been an identifiable strength for Bentley in previous placements.
Bentley has recently completed the 3rd grade. Bentley is completing many grade level tasks. Bentley receives supports at school in the form of social groups. Socially, Bentley gets along great with his peers. Sometimes he enjoys being the center of attention, however, redirection seems to work well when he gets off task. Bentley much prefers individual work in the classroom. He likes to share his own ideas but can also work in a group setting. Bentley is very self-aware and is in tune with things that bother him. He has become proficient at utilizing his coping skills in public settings such as school, restaurants and public places. Bentley thrives when he has a structured routine. He enjoys knowing what will be happening each day and what will be expected of him. Bentley requires patience and understanding and responds well to positive reinforcements such as rewards for good behavior.
Bentley is a very healthy 9-year-old. He does require regular appointments with his treatment team. Bentley has made significant strides with self-awareness, coping skills, and conflict resolution. He is motivated to find his forever home with a family who is invested in providing him with a stable home environment and has the ability to nurture him and ensure long term success.
Bentley would love to be involved in extra-curriculars. He loves computers and gaming and has recently taken up an interest in soccer. Although he is young, Bentley has ambitious aspirations. He has expressed the desire to create his own YouTube channel and invent a game for children to play. He does not like being idle. Bentley would benefit from an adventurous family who loves to stay busy but can also enjoy evenings in playing board games or watching his favorite shows. Bentley would thrive in a family where he could feel emotionally safe and vulnerable. It would also be beneficial for Bentley’s future family to lend a listening ear and provide constructive criticism without judgement. Bentley would appreciate a family who could be adaptable, intentional, and reliable in order for him to feel as if he belongs.
