About Jayon
Jayon is a bright, inquisitive 15-year-old who enjoys learning, expressing himself, and sharing his perspective with others. Jayon is diagnosed with high functioning Autism. However, he is thoughtful, observant, and a strong self-advocate who asks questions, seeks updates, and is comfortable sharing how he feels about things that matter to him.
Jayon has many interests, including kung fu, karate, comedy, going to the mall, video games, music, television, reading, and performing. He enjoys Family Matters, Michael Jackson’s music, and activities that allow him to showcase his personality, such as giving speeches, singing, dancing, or participating in basketball or football. Jayon also enjoys barbecue foods, especially ribs and baked beans, as well as Jamaican beef patties. He hopes to find an adoptive family that will support, understand, and encourage him as he continues to grow.
On July 1, 2024, Florida enacted a new law (often referred to as the Permanency for Children law) that limits public access to images of children in the state’s foster care system, particularly those up for adoption. The state wants to be cautious as to who can see and potentially have access to youth’s info. Only approved, background-checked adoptive families can view photos.
