About Amiri
Amiri is a mostly easy-going and happy child who thrives on attention and interaction. He becomes distressed when left alone and prefers the presence of others. Amiri has a strong affinity for sensory toys he especially enjoys his drum set and any toys that make noise. He also likes playing with Tupperware containers and opening and closing the doors on the play kitchen set. As a result of a car accident, Amiri has limited mobility. He can sit upright for short periods with the support of his arms and will lay down when he becomes tired. While on his belly, he can scoot himself around using his upper body strength. Amiri is not yet verbal and continues to work on speech development. Despite these challenges, he is eating well and appears to enjoy mealtimes. Amiri is seeking a family who will support him by not giving up and making sure he gets the services he needs. Could you be the family who will show Amiri what unconditional love and support means?
In our effort to limit the digital footprint of our children and youth, Virginia has elected to only provide photos to inquiring families. (A digital footprint could be described as a trail left behind when someone uses the internet (e.g. websites visited, social media accounts, photos, etc.). The state wants to be cautious as to who can see and potentially have access to youth’s info.
