About Clayton

Clay, who prefers to go by his nickname rather than his full name Clayton, is an energetic and curious young person with a big heart. He has a playful spirit, enjoys being active, and finds joy in exploring new activities. While he may be shy when first meeting someone, once he feels comfortable, his sense of humor and thoughtful nature stand out. At home and in school, Clay is often engaging, fun to be around, and brings a lively presence to those around him. When frustrated, he benefits from patient, caring adults who help him manage those tough moments. With that type of support and encouragement, he has every opportunity to grow into a confident and successful young adult. Some of Clay’s favorite foods include pizza, hamburgers and fries, lasagna, and cheesecake, often enjoyed with water or pop. His favorite colors are purple and blue; hues that are as vibrant as his personality. If he could visit anywhere, he would choose Northern Michigan, simply because it is a place he has never been before and he is curious to see it. Looking ahead, Clay dreams of owning his own landscaping business when he grows up.

Clay enjoys being active in a variety of ways. Sports such as hockey, football, golf, pickleball, and swimming are some of his favorites, and he also likes spending time outside after school riding bikes with friends. Weekends are often filled with some of those activities or creative outlets like playing piano and singing. He has a love for both math and art in school, showing that his interests stretch across different areas. Clay also participates in church activities, including bible study, and has shared that he would enjoy joining choir in the future. Clay is proud of his academic accomplishments and the recognition he has received, such as an award he won at his church. Clay's heart for family and connection shines through in the answers he gave for what he would wish for: a new car, more time with family members who have passed on, and healing of other family members.

Clay would do best in a family environment that is patient, structured, and nurturing. He could thrive in a home with any parents that can provide him with the attention he deserves, and he could adjust well in a home with or without siblings. A family that is trauma-informed or open to learning about trauma-informed care would be best equipped to support him. Clear expectations, consistency, and encouragement will allow Clay to feel safe, supported, and understood. With his forever family, he hopes to share activities like golfing, swimming, playing sports, and celebrating holidays together. Clay is a resilient and bright young person with a lot of potential. With the right support and environment, he can continue to grow into a strong, capable, and successful individual who uses his strengths to shape a meaningful future.
