About the Siblings
Kavion, big brother, is a cheerful little boy with lots of smiles. He is very energetic and outgoing. Kavion enjoys having fun with his friends and is always trying to keep up with them. He enjoys sensory play and chooses specific toys based on his needs although his favorite toys are stuffed animals. Tavion, little brother, is a cheerful toddler and like his big brother, he is always smiling. Described as a "sweet boy," he is gentle and affectionate and loves to give hugs. Tavion listens to music to relax and self sooth.
Kavion has been recently enrolled full-time in a specialized classroom to support his educational and developmental needs. He is making great progress with his communication skill development in addition to his occupational skill development. He plays well with his peers and is very sociable. Tavion attends a center-based daycare where he is very popular and thriving with early intervention and other supports. He is not a napper and enjoys parallel play with his classmates.
For the moment, these sweet brothers are placed with separate foster families. Kavion is placed with a single mother foster parent, and they have developed a strong bond. He is the only child in the home and has his own room. Kavion seeks is foster mother for stability and support and thrives off the structure and routine his foster mother provides. Tavion was placed with a two-parent foster family with three other children. His foster mother is a stay-at-home mom, and he has a good relationship with the other children in the home. Tavion loves parallel play, and he loves to be chased around the house by his foster siblings. He is also very affectionate and very gentle with his younger foster sibling, the baby in the home.
Kavion and Tavion will flourish with any loving, committed, and structured family of any constellation with or without other children in the home. Interested families should be experienced in parenting specifically with respect to their special needs which includes working with their providers. Their social worker is also looking for families experienced with advocating for and supporting their educational needs.
Kavion and Tavion are of African American descent and perspective families must provide them the appropriate information and ethnic and cultural role models with respect to their culture, this includes discussing racism and discrimination. Interested families should be open to supporting their relationship with their paternal grandparents which includes contact and visits.
