About Dawsen
Dawsen (April, 2013) is an preteen boy, who loves being outdoors. Dawsen loves fishing, riding his bike, and playing basketball and softball. Dawsen likes school and his favorite subject is math. He has hopes of becoming an engineer. Dawsen gets along well with other children and makes friends easily. He loves tinkering around in old sheds, pulling electronic devices apart and putting them back together. Dawsen has four other siblings whom he tries to stay in touch with; two of his siblings have been adopted and Dawsen hopes to be adopted himself. Dawsen responds well to adult supervision and guidance, and he has responded well to therapeutic assistance to overcome the trauma having been removed from his parents. Dawsen has verbalized his desire to be adopted and describes “not having to move again” as one of his motivations for that. Dawsen would likely do well in home with other children, or a family looking to adopt only one child. Any family considering adopting Dawsen would do well to encourage Dawsen’s interest in mechanical things, and may be an influence in helping him become the engineer he sees himself as becoming.
