About the Siblings
Katie: “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!” is one phrase Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony Equestria Girls would say. What does this have to do with Katie? Well, it’s a surefire way to make her laugh! Katie loves the colors pink and purple, so it isn’t shocking that Pinkie Pie would be her favorite character in her favorite show. Katie sure does fly when she’s riding her bike since this is one of her favorite activities to do. “Katie is cheerful, friendly, caring, and eager to try new things,” says an adult close to her. Given that her favorite foods are taco soup with chips, pasta with red/white sauce and parmesan, and any flavor of milk you can think of, I’d say “eager to try new things” is an understatement. Her favorite subject in school is Art, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. If you have kittens and puppies in your home, Katie will be thrilled to see her favorite animals. She might even introduce her prized stuffed cat, Miso, to them. Katie loves Halloween and Christmas because she loves to dress up and go trick-or-treating and decorate the tree and open presents. If Katie could go anywhere on Earth it would be Georgia because she’s been there before on a vacation and had a lot of fun. Most of all, Katie wants to ride bikes and have family movie nights with her forever family.
Katie would do well in any two-parent home but consideration will be given to a single parent with a very strong support system. She would benefit from parents who are experienced with children, and trauma informed. Katie would do well with other children in the home. Katie needs a family who will be loving and supportive no matter what. It is important that Katie is adopted with her brother, as they share a close bond. Her parents should also allow her the opportunity to maintain important relationships to her.
Riley: Don’t swing past this energetic youth! Riley is all about the swings when it comes to the playground, though he can be known to bounce around on a trampoline every now and then. He fully enjoys being thrown in the air too. Though he does have his active moments, Riley is known to be a really good cuddler. In fact, he loves cuddle time, being tickled, and lying down to flip through elephant and pig books. Whether it’s cuddle time or not, Riley likes to watch Mickey Mouse, Bluey, Winnie the Pooh and Peppa Pig. Riley loves to play independently and you can usually find him with matchbox cars, Barbie shoes, and other small random toys. He usually goes for red toys though since this seems to be his favorite color.
According to an adult close to him, Riley is “cheerful, inquisitive and loving.” Riley likes to be held and carried like a toddler. It ties into his cuddly personality. When going to bed after a long fun-filled day, Riley likes to have a blanket or toy to hold. When it comes to food his favorites include macaroni and cheese, bananas, pasta, spinach tetrazzini, pizza, goldfish crackers, bread, and regular or chocolate milk. As you can see, he’s not too terribly picky except when it comes to vegetables. Riley doesn’t like to eat vegetables just on their own, but mix them into something like a casserole and he doesn’t seem to mind.
Riley would do well in any two-parent home but consideration will be given to a single parent with a very strong support system. He would benefit from parents who are experienced with children, and trauma informed. His future parents will need to be strong advocates for the services that will help Riley reach his full potential. Riley would thrive as the youngest child in the home. Riley needs a family who will be loving and supportive no matter what. It is important that Riley is adopted with his sister, as they share a close bond.
