About Alyssa
Here’s a message that other go-getters such as Alyssa might appreciate. “Alyssa has obtainable goals for herself, and she is a confident young lady with a positive future ahead of her,” says one of her close adults. One of this dynamic doer’s goals involves becoming a veterinarian, and she’ll be a natural at it. “Alyssa loves playing with animals and caring for them,” a close adult says. “She also likes doing her makeup, nails and hair.” Which leads to her creative side. Alyssa enjoys being artistic, and she likes making diamond art, which is a blend of painting and beading. She likes drawing and coloring, too. In addition to her creativity, Alyssa likes being active by playing basketball and volleyball. She adds that, “I love swimming!” The fun continues for Alyssa on family game nights, especially if it means playing Uno, which is her favorite game. And if the game-playing includes listening to music, then so much the better because she likes that as well. On her list of favorite things, Alyssa chooses pizza for food, pink for color and cats for animal. She says English language arts is her favorite school subject, and Christmas is her favorite holiday because she likes spending time with family. On the weekends, Alyssa enjoys sleeping in, praying and journaling, and when spending time with friends, she likes exploring different locales. Her dream destination is New York because “it seems fun.” Some of her other wishes are finding a good home and family and having fun in life, which means in addition to “go-getter,” you could add “fun-lover” to Alyssa’s descriptors. One of the things she dreams of doing with a forever family is going skating.
When she’s asked what she takes the most pride in, Alyssa says, “my worth, as I have worked hard on me.” It appears to be paying off for her. According to one of her close adults, “Alyssa is a likeable, funny and smart teenager. She has learned to be a strong advocate for herself ,and she is gaining more confidence. She is a friendly young lady who is able to make friends easily and who enjoys spending time with others. Alyssa is a happy-go-lucky type of girl who can be very bubbly and positive.”
Alyssa would benefit from being in a patient and understanding forever family who can make sure she receives any needed support services. She would do best with a single female parent, two female parents or a mom and dad who are experienced and trauma informed. Alyssa also would do best as the only or youngest child in the home. Her new family also needs to be open to letting Alyssa maintain contact with her sister.
