About Amilah
Given the right opportunity, Amilah is ready to bust out and spread her wings. She harbors a wealth of talent and likes to put it on display. “She has a great sense of fashion and enjoys make-up and doing her nails,” says one of Amilah’s close adults. “She has recently shown interest in cheerleading and the school’s dance team.” Dancing represents one of the things Amilah enjoys doing with her friends along with playing games and socializing. “She enjoys reading and writing and reports that language arts is her favorite subject in school,” adds a close adult. Amilah likes spending time outdoors and going swimming. On her list of favorite things, Amilah includes teal for color, red panda for animal and Bop It for toy or game. Her favorite holidays are Easter and Christmas, and she enjoys celebrating them by having fun and spending time with others. Amilah might be convinced to make some sweet treats because she enjoys baking. If she could travel anywhere, Amilah would go to Florida or Texas because she’s had fun there. Once she meets her future family, Amilah wants to play games and share laughs with them.
“Amilah is overall a sweet kid,” says one of her close adults. “She has a great sense of humor and overall does well in school. She can be very resourceful when she comes across a problem and is quite a problem solver. She is very caring and has a very chill and laidback personality. She is also very good at showing empathy.”
Amilah would do best with a single female parent or a mom and dad. Her new parent or parents should be understanding, patient, experienced and trauma informed. Amilah would do best as the only child in her new family. She needs a family who’ll be fierce advocates for the services that will help Amilah excel. Her family also needs to be open to letting Amilah maintain close and appropriate relationships. Finally, Amilah hopes for a family who has dogs.
