About Grant
Grant has many skills, but perhaps his athleticism is the best one. As one of his adult advocates explains, “He is very athletically talented. With consistency and proper coaching, he will achieve great success.” Grant enjoys playing sports such as floor hockey and basketball, and he used to be on a travel team. He likes college football, too, and roots for the team who hails from Ann Arbor. “His favorite college football team is the University of Michigan,” says one of Grant’s close adults. As a matter of fact, Grant’s favorite colors match the maize and blue of the Wolverines’ uniforms. Grant’s favorite after-school activity is playing outdoors, and he enjoys interacting with dogs, which are his favorite animals. He likes spending time with friends in the outdoors or inside playing video games. Grant’s favorite special occasion is his birthday, and he enjoys celebrating it by going to a trampoline park and eating homemade strawberry cake. His favorite foods are salmon, pickles, apples and Takis. One of his favorite things to do is spend time with his brother, which he wants to do more often. Family is important to Grant, and he’d do well in one who encourages his athletic endeavors.
“Grant is very intelligent, has a great smile and can be very loving and caring,” says a close adult. “Grant is sensitive, kind, funny and energetic. He wants to be included in decisions that involve him, and he loves a schedule, especially when he is allowed to have input and choices. Grant describes himself as a boy who loves to be outdoors and who’s active and outgoing.”
At this time, Grant is struggling with the idea of becoming a member of another family and will need an adoptive family who is understanding and patient with his transition. “Grant would do well with a male role model,” says one of his adult advocates. His new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. Grant would do best in a structured and consistent home environment. He also would do best as the only or youngest child in his new family. A family who has dogs would be a bonus for Grant.
