About the Siblings
Rosa has big wishes involving her past, present and future, yet she’s not residing in fantasyland. Instead, Rosa is a common-sense girl who misses loved ones who’ve passed but who dreams of making new memories with a new family. She envisions a future with a family “who likes to travel to cool places.” One of those cool places could be her dream destination, which is New York City because she wants to see all the tall buildings. Rosa’s dream job is becoming a police officer, or as she says, “a police woman.” This future crime-buster is a gamer who especially likes playing the thinking variety of video games. If she’s hungry, goulash will satiate Rosa because it’s her favorite food, and if she’s sad, blue can make her happy because it’s her favorite color. Art is Rosa’s favorite class in school, and wolves are her favorite animals. She says she’s not sure what brings her laughter, but she knows Halloween and Christmas make her smile because of trick-or-treating and spending time with family. Rosa certainly would bring smiles to a family who enjoys a young lady with big dreams and a big heart to match. One of the things Rosa hopes her new family enjoys is going on trips together.
Many sleep appreciators certainly can relate to the dream destination of Vanessa, who says if she could visit anywhere, it would be “nowhere special” … except to her. “I like to visit my bed,” she says. Why? “Because I like to sleep. My favorite thing to do on weekends is sleep.” And after school. She says enjoying sleep is the most important thing she wants others to know about her. Yet Vanessa is far from sleepwalking through life. She’s an active girl who says gym is her favorite subject in school and who enjoys playing volleyball, going shopping and spending time with her friends. Vanessa says she loves sharing laughs with her friends. This busy young lady enjoys pitching in around the house by cleaning. She likes celebrating her favorite special occasions by spending time with others. Vanessa says she enjoys Halloween, Christmas and Hispanic Heritage Month the most so she can go trick or treating, go shopping for gifts and go to the heritage month-themed parties. Vanessa’s other favorite things include dogs for animals, purple for color and chicken salad for food. Although she doesn’t have a dream job yet, we’re pretty certain Vanessa won’t lose any sleep over it. She certainly would sleep soundly if she had a forever family. Her dream activity with them isn’t dozing off in a comfy chair while watching a feature film during family movie night but rather going shopping together.
“Vanessa is a funny and engaging girl who is open to talk about issues,” says one of her close adults. “Vanessa is a very sweet girl who lets me know if things are crazy for her. Vanessa also is a great help and she has a good sense of humor!”
According to one of her close adults, “Rosa is a sweet girl. She is very shy when you first meet her, but once she opens up, she has a great sense of humor. Rosa is a unique child who is figuring out who she wants to be.”
A forever family must be willing to adopt Vanessa and Rosa together. The girls would do best with a single female parent, two female parents or a mom and dad. They would do well with other children in the home as long as they receive the support, guidance and attention they deserve. Their new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. Vanessa and Rosa’s new forever family must make sure they receive the services that will help them excel now and into the future. Finally, the girls love animals and hope their new family has pets.
