About Hailey
Hailey has many favorite comfort foods that would make anyone hungry just looking at the list! Whenever she can, she enjoys mac and cheese, brats, bosco sticks, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and anything chocolate! Yum! But she doesn’t only find comfort in comfort food. Hailey loves reading, especially on the weekends and after school. Hailey especially likes reading Harry Potter, which prompts a desire to travel to Orlando, Florida. “I want to see the Harry Potter castle at Universal Studios and, well, everything at Disney World,” she says. That’s not the only place she wants to go though. Hailey says, “Also, France, because Paris…. Who doesn’t want to go? Oh, and England because I want to sit in the English countryside and contemplate life.” The countryside would suit Hailey just fine, who prefers solitary activities, like drawing and writing. Despite her preference for solitude, she does enjoy participating in the theatre productions at her school. Her favorite subjects in school are history, English, and music, her favorite game is Uno or Phase 10, and her favorite animals are dogs, cats, bunnies, and goats. Hailey’s top choices for special occasions are Christmas and Halloween. She enjoys celebrating them by opening presents, looking at Christmas lights, opening one present on Christmas Eve, dressing up, and going trick or treating. Hailey’s desires for a future career veer from the typical choices of youth her age. Instead of becoming a veterinarian, police officer, doctor or nurse, she wants to be a scientist at NASA. Hailey looks forward to going to Disney World with her future family and wants you to know that “I want to be able to be a kid. I’m very kind and caring and would do anything for the people I love.”
According to a close adult, “Hailey is a super sweet and funny girl who is very smart and loves to share her knowledge with anyone. She is a strong self-advocate and has a good understanding of her needs. Hailey is an energetic, creative young lady.”
Hailey would do best with a family who’ll be fierce advocates for any support services she needs to function at her best. A household with an experienced and trauma-informed parent or parents would be beneficial to Hailey. Her new family needs to be open to letting Hailey maintain her relationship with her older sister. Hailey loves animals and would prefer a home with pets. Above all, Hailey needs a family that will love and support her no matter what and provide a safe space for her to be herself.
