About Hailey
Just the thought of Hailey’s favorite food dish would make almost anyone’s mouth water. Add the sight and the scent wafting around the house and you’re talking heavenly yumminess. Hailey loves buttered noodles. But she doesn’t only find comfort in comfort food. Hailey loves reading, especially on the weekends and after school. Hailey especially likes reading about Harry Potter, which prompts a desire to travel to Orlando, Florida. “I want to see the Harry Potter castle at Universal Studios and, well, everything at Disney World,” she says. Hailey also is a creative young lady who likes drawing, writing and making arts and crafts, and, believe it or not, she enjoys doing her homework after school. Her favorite subject in school is history, her favorite game is Uno and her favorite animals are cats and dogs. Hailey’s top choices for special occasions are Christmas, Halloween and her birthday. She enjoys celebrating them with what she calls “normal stuff” – presents and trick-or-treating. Hailey’s desires for a future career veer from the typical choices of youth her age. Instead of becoming a veterinarian, police officer, doctor or nurse, she wants to be a historian, teacher or scientist. Hailey’s future dreams spread to three of her biggest wishes, which she says are “the Harry Potter world to be real, to be able to breathe under water and to be able to teleport.” She’d likely teleport into her new family home and hope they enjoy a little improvisation in the activities they share, or as Hailey says, “Let’s just wing it!!!”
According to a close adult, “Hailey is a super sweet and funny girl who is very smart and loves to share her knowledge with anyone. She is a strong self-advocate and has a good understanding of her needs. Hailey is an energetic, creative young lady.”
Hailey would do best with a family who’ll be fierce advocates for any support services she needs to function at her best. A household with two experienced and trauma-informed parents would be beneficial to Hailey. Her new family needs to be open to letting Hailey maintain her relationship with her older sister.
