About Zackry

For Zackry, the alphabet likely starts with the wrong letter. The clue about his possible way of thinking comes in his answer to a question about his favorite animal, which is zebra “because it starts with ‘Z,’” he says. Zackry is still “A-OK” in plenty of ways. He likes munching on chicken nuggets, watermelon, pineapple, and ice cream because they’re his favorite foods. He enjoys his swim lessons after school and on the weekends. Additionally, on the weekends, Zackry enjoys going out to eat and playing outside. Zackry likes playing with remote-controlled cars or trucks, too. His favorite colors are red and blue, and his favorite subject in school is art. “Zackry loves swimming and riding his bike,” says an adult close to him. “He really enjoys fire trucks and police cars.” It should come as no surprise then, to hear that Zackry wants to be a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic when he grows up. He says Christmas, Halloween, and his birthday are his favorite holidays, and he likes to celebrate them by eating good food, hanging out with family, and receiving gifts. His dream vacation destination is Hawaii because, “it’s warm there and I can swim all the time,” he says. One of Zackry’s greatest wishes is to have his own family. He would love a family that he can go out to eat, spend time outside, and joke around with. Zackry wants you to know that “I am polite, kind, and I care about others.” If any of his interests sound like your family, you might be the family he’s looking for.

“Zackry is very energetic and very chatty,” says one of those closest to him. “He likes to please others and is very polite. He engages people with ease. Zackry is a joyful, eager and polite child. He loves to help and feel included, but can also play by himself with no issue.”

Zackry would do best with two parents who can advocate for the services he needs to be at his best, but a single parent with a strong support system would be considered too. His new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. Zackry would do best in a family in which he’s the only or youngest child. Finally, he would prefer a home with pets, if possible.
