About Mi-Mi

Mi-Mi is a laid-back, friendly young lady. She is excited about finding her forever home and eager to finally settle down with a family and belong. Mi-Mi loves to draw, scroll on social media, and listen to music. She loves rap and hip-hop, but also enjoys slow songs that she can sing along with. She is not too interested in sports but is open to running track when the new school year starts. She loves to cook and would love to learn how to make all of her favorite Puerto Rican dishes, such as Patillos, chicken and rice. Mi-Mi is maturing and beginning to understand the attributes needed to have and maintain healthy and positive relationships, such as trust and communication. She is working hard on the relationships with friends and adults around her, using the tools she has learned. She is learning to communicate her feelings more and acknowledge when she does something that may hurt others' feelings. Mi-Mi recently reconnected with an older sister after many years and is communicating how important connections are for her, especially with her biological family. Mi-Mi does a good job with connecting with the adults around her; she likes to talk and gain wisdom.

She is serious about her education (she currently has all A’s and B’s) and is looking forward to a new school year with new beginnings. Her favorite subject are math and science, and she likes to read but reports “not all the time.” She wishes to have a career in counseling or social work that allows her to help people, specifically the homeless. She feels a strong desire to help those who can't help themselves. She reports she has had people help her along the way, and she wants to do that for someone else. She cannot stand to see anyone homeless and going without food; she often stops to help if she can. Mi-Mi is not sure if she wants to pursue higher education just yet, but she currently enjoys going to school.

Mi-Mi wants to have a family to call her own; a family with one or two parents, and maybe a pet or two. She loves all kinds of animals. Mi-Mi would love a home where she could be the only child. Although Mi-Mi can be a homebody, she is ready to live a life of adventure; when asked where she wants to go, she says "I just want to see the world!" and wishes her new family to be ready for that adventure with her. Mi-Mi has younger biological siblings with whom she is bonded and would love for her new family to understand that this connection is very important to her. Mi-Mi’s laid-back nature, infectious smile, and lovable spirit will make you fall in love!
