About James
James’ favorite animals are dogs, but chances are pretty good he’d enjoy hanging out at two of Detroit’s sports arenas with a couple of other loveable creatures. As in Hooper and Roary, the mascots of the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Lions, which happen to be James’ favorite sports teams. James loves sports, especially basketball and football. But instead of sports venues such as Detroit’s Little Caesar’s Arena or Ford Field, James’ dream destination is The Grand Canyon State. “I think it would be cool,” he says about a visit to Arizona. Despite his “Grand” dream, James often settles for visits with his friends. His favorite things to do with them include talking, having fun and playing basketball and video games. James loves spending time with friends while celebrating holidays such as his favorites, Fourth of July and New Year’s. His other favorite things include red for color, math for subject in school and ribs and pizza for food. Because he loves sports, James prefers a forever family who shares his enjoyment of basketball and football.
“James tries to please adults,” says one of the people close to him. “James has a big heart and a caring nature. He needs love, nurturing and support.”
James would do best with two parents who are experienced and trauma informed. His new family must be strong advocates for the services that will help James function at his best. His family must be able to provide the guidance, support and supervision James requires.
