About James
James’ favorite animals are dogs, but chances are pretty good he’d enjoy hanging out at one of Detroit’s sports arenas with another loveable creature. As in Hooper, the mascot of the Detroit Pistons, which happens to be James’ favorite sports team. James loves sports, especially basketball. But instead of sports venues such as Detroit’s Little Caesar’s Arena, James’ dream destination is The City That Never Sleeps. “It’s nice,” he says about a visit to the notorious New York City. Despite his “Big City” dreams, James often settles for visits with his friends. His favorite things to do with them include talking, having fun and playing basketball and video games. James loves spending time with friends while celebrating holidays such as his favorites, Christmas and his birthday. His other favorite things include yellow for color, math for subject in school and ribs for food. Because he loves sports, James prefers a forever family who shares his enjoyment of basketball.
“James is a very outgoing young man who wants to live a positive life,” says one of the people close to him. “James is a joy to sit and hold conversations with.”
James would do best with two parents who are experienced, and trauma informed. His new family must be strong advocates for the services that will help James function at his best. He also would do best as the only or youngest child in the home. His family must be able to provide the guidance, support and supervision James requires. Since James loves dogs, he would prefer a home with them. Lastly, James would like to live somewhere that has a small-town feel.
