About Jayden
Jayden is a sweet, caring, polite, social, and wonderfully silly young person with a passion for technology, music, and learning new things. He has an incredible curiosity about the world and can happily spend hours exploring topics that interest him. Technology is a particular favorite—Jayden enjoys using his computer, iPad, and laptop to watch YouTube, listen to music, send emails, and create his own PowerPoint presentations. He has even edited Wikipedia pages about different companies!
Jayden has a wide range of interests. He loves letters and the alphabet, astronomy and astrology, and learning about different languages, especially French and Spanish. He also has quite a collection of fun hats, including top hats, crowns, wizard hats, birthday hats, and fedoras. Music is another favorite, and Jayden enjoys singing, dancing, karaoke, and performing. Some of his favorite songs include alphabet songs and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
When Jayden isn't exploring technology, he enjoys puzzles, word searches, nail care, making lists, and writing in his planner. He likes talking about parties, holidays, outings, things he might purchase, and his plans after graduation. His favorite characters include SpongeBob and Miss Spider. When it comes to food, it is hard to beat anything Oreo! Jayden enjoys discovering different Oreo flavors and snacks, as well as grilled cheese, ice cream, and Tostitos chips.
Jayden is a verbal communicator who enjoys engaging with others. He does especially well with clear expectations, visual schedules, predictable routines, and opportunities to stay actively engaged. Jayden is very independent with many of his daily routines and self-care skills. At school, Jayden is developing practical skills that will support his transition to adulthood, including budgeting, calendar use, healthy living, chores, reading, math, safety, and job exploration.
Jayden has developed meaningful relationships with several clinicians and school staff who know him well, as well as his educational and court-appointed surrogates. Maintaining these relationships will be an important part of his transition to a permanent family. He would benefit from a family who is social, attentive, engaging, outgoing, and able to make community involvement a regular part of family life. Jayden would thrive in a family that can balance supervision and structure with opportunities for independence, fun, and exploration.
Jayden has a big personality, a curious mind, and so many interests to share.
