About Marcell
Change that idiom/cliché phrase “like a duck takes to water” to “like a Marcell takes to water.” Especially this Marcell. “He likes the water and is learning to swim,” says one of Marcell’s close adults. Except he doesn’t just like the water; he loves the water and enjoys swimming underwater. Marcell dreams of traveling to Hawaii to see the clear water and the fish below the surface. If Marcell enjoys anything as much as swimming, it might be soccer. He loves the sport and wishes to become a professional soccer player. If not, he wants to be an actor. Marcell likely gets his acting aspirations from his love of watching movies as well as reading. Says one of Marcell’s close adults, “Books are his friends.” Marcell also enjoys watching television and listening to music. On his list of favorite things, Marcell includes banana for food, blue for color and eagle for animal. He loves sweets and says Halloween is his favorite holiday because he likes the candy. “He also enjoys a good meal,” adds a close adult. Marcell’s favorite after-school activity is chilling, and on the weekends, he most enjoys eating and sleeping. If he had three wishes, Marcell would want a special power so he can clean up the planet and help the animals. He’d likely wish for a family, too. Marcell says he wants to spend time with his new family, which he hopes is a loving one.
“Marcell has a positive sense of humor and is great at making people laugh,” says a close adult. “Marcell shared he wants people to know he is a good person. He is a nice youth who’s quiet and helpful. While he is not a big outdoors person, he does enjoy playing with his friends.”
Marcell’s new family must be open to letting him maintain his sibling relationships. His parent or parents must make sure Marcell receives any needed support services, and they must be able to provide structure and one-on-one attention. His new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. Marcell can be placed with a family who has other children regardless of age.
