About Zahira

Zahira definitely is not one who has a herd mentality. Sure, she loves family and friends, but she busts out on her own, especially when it comes to her appearance. “I love to express myself through my clothes, makeup and hair,” she says. “I like makeup and getting my nails done.” In fact, Zahira takes the most pride in her ability with hair and makeup. Getting her hair done is one of Zahira’s favorite weekend activities along with shopping. She loves spending time with friends going out to eat, going to the mall and chilling with them. One of her favorite things is cooking. “I like to cook pasta,” Zahira says. Still, her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite colors are red and black, her favorite animals are cats and dogs and her favorite subjects in school are reading and English. If she could visit anywhere, Zahira would travel to Tokyo. “I want to see volleyball tournaments because they have very good volleyball teams there,” she says. Zahira loves celebrating holidays such as Halloween “because I like to be with family and friends.” If she could wish for anything, Zahira would want “to play on my electronics all I want” and “to have a family who is good to me.” Some of the things Zahira would love to do with a family are going out to eat, going to the mall, going to the movies – especially horror flicks – and going roller skating.

“Zahira is a kind and smart girl who’s an animal lover and who loves to laugh,” says one of her close adults. “She is friendly, calm and funny. She is full of love and kindness. She is a very happy person who likes to get to know people.”

Zahira would do best with a single female parent, two female parents or a mom and dad. Her new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. In addition, her new parent or parents should be open-minded and let Zahira express herself creatively and freely. Zahira would do best as the youngest or only child in the home. She likes cats as well as dogs and would love a home with animals. Her new parent or parents must advocate for whatever Zahira needs to thrive.
