About Nevaeh
If she had her way, Nevaeh would board a ship or plane and head all the way to Africa. “I want to go there because I want to do good things for people and help,” she says. Speaking of doing good deeds for others, Nevaeh wants to continue that practice by becoming a social worker when she gets older. This kind and caring young lady takes the most pride in “how far I’ve come from my past,” and with her personality and goals, she certainly has a bright future. Nevaeh still lives very much in the present and enjoys journaling, singing and listening to music. She likes shopping, doing makeup, making bracelets and watching TV, especially “On My Block.” Nevaeh’s weekends are filled with family time, ice cream eating and her other favorite activities. When she spends time with friends, she enjoys talking and going to the movies. On her list of favorite things, Nevaeh ranks pizza rolls, spaghetti and ramen noodles as the best food. She lists pink, red and black as her favorite colors; dogs and pandas as her favorite animals; and Uno and Skip-Bo as her favorite games. Having games nights is one of the things Nevaeh looks forward to with a new family. She wants to have movie nights, too, and she hopes her family enjoys going shopping together.
“Nevaeh thinks about others and puts them first,” says one of her close adults. “She reported she is best at listening to her friends’ issues and worries. Nevaeh is a strong-willed, brave and honest girl who’s open to doing and trying new things.”
Nevaeh would do best in a home with a single mom or two moms who are experienced and trauma informed. Her new family needs to make sure she gets any services that will help her flourish. Her parent or parents need to be open to letting her maintain appropriate and important relationships. Nevaeh loves animals and would prefer a home with pets if possible.
