About Savanna
Savanna, who also likes to go by the name AJ, isn’t just a bookworm; they're a book beast. When other kids come home from school and sleep or eat, Savanna pulls out a book. Reading isn’t just their favorite after-school activity; it’s their favorite thing to do … period! “They read fantasies,” says one of Savanna’s close adults. “Harry Potter, Twilight and Lord of the Rings are some of their favorites.” When they're not reading, they're likely writing. Savanna says writing is their favorite subject in school, and writing is one of their favorite weekend activities. Savanna is very creative and one way they express that is through make up application where they create new and innovative looks for themself. One of the adults close to them calls Savanna “a great artist.” On their list of favorite things, Savanna includes enchiladas for food, red for color and cats for animal. Savanna says their favorite holidays are Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. “I like to celebrate them with family dinners, picnics, games nights or matching PJ night,” Savanna says. When they get older, Savanna wants to become a cosmetologist or interior designer. They say the Bahamas are their dream destination because “it’s hot there, and it looks so beautiful!” Once they find their forever family, Savanna hopes they go on vacations together and spend quality time together.
“Savanna is an outgoing child who thrives on attention,” says one of their close adults. “Savanna is giving. They offer things they have made themself but also offers their time.”
“Savanna is very excited about adoption,” says one of the adults who cares about them most. “They state that they want to know what a real family is.” Savanna would do best with one or two parents who are experience and trauma informed. Savanna needs an affirming family who will be open to letting them explore who they are and support them no matter what. They also would do well in a home with pets.
