About Ka'aliyah
Some say the well-spoken have a way with words, and for Ka’aliyah, the eloquent way she communicates will take her a long way. Perhaps even to the fame and fortune she desperately desires. “Ka’aliyah is very determined to be famous one day,” says one of her close adults. She even has a planned path to stardom. “I want to be a famous music writer or dancer,” says Ka’aliyah, whose dream destination just happens to be Hollywood. “It's just super big and cool, and every famous person went there, and one day I want to be famous and have my name on The Walk of Fame.” If her path to fame gets blocked, Ka’aliyah says a career as a nurse or entrepreneur would be fine with her. That flexibility suits her nature since she’s willing to try anything, especially sports. “Sports play a very large role in her life,” says a close adult. Her favorite sports are volleyball, basketball, soccer and track, but she says, “I want to play softball.” Ka’aliyah’s desire for diversity extends to food, to a certain extent that is. “I like most food except Mexican, but my go-to food is Italian,” Ka’aliyah says. “And I do not like syrup, honey or anything sticky.” Duly noted! We’ve also taken note of her favorite holiday. “I like all holidays, but Christmas is my favorite,” Ka’aliyah says, “because it’s Jesus’ birthday, and Jesus likes when we give and don't care about what we’re going to get. I like to spend time with family, eat good food, go to special church services and do family activities.” Ka’aliyah wants to become a member of a new family so “we can make food together, play games together, have funny family talks at dinner, go to church and talk about God, do artsy things, listen to music and make music and go on vacations.”
“Ka’aliyah has a very outgoing personality,” says one of her close adults. “She can make friends with just about anyone.”Adds Ka’aliyah, “I like when people are patient and kind towards me, and I'm a human being like everyone else, and I would like to be treated the same.”
Ka’aliyah’s new parent or parents should be experienced and trauma informed. Ka’aliyah’s parents must be fierce advocates for the services that will help her flourish. Her family also needs to be open to letting Ka’aliyah maintain her sibling relationships.
