About Jayla
If you ask Jayla her favorite food, you’ll literally get a mouthful. So – with a smile – we offer you Jayla’s list of favorite food: “spaghetti, oatmeal, sausage links, french toast, eggs with cheese, taco salad, tacos, fast food, buffet places.” Oh my! That’s some tasty table fare! Jayla has plenty of favorite animals, too, including pandas, sloths, red pandas, foxes and wolves. Her favorite colors are hot pink, purple, light pink and light purple. Jayla’s plentiful pleasures extend to her favorite things to do. She enjoys playing with the realistic Reborn Baby Dolls and – as she says – “other teenage stuff.” Jayla keeps her mind sharp by reading and doing puzzles and word searches, and she keeps it well-rested by napping after school and on weekends. However, she enjoys getting out. “She likes to go on special outings and enjoys getting lunch with a trusted friend or caregiver,” says one of Jayla’s close adults. When she’s with her friends, Jayla likes playing games and watching movies. She dreams of visiting Disney World, and she wishes to have a phone and a cat or dog. When she gets older, Jayla wants to become a teacher, police officer or veterinarian. Jayla envisions a forever family in her future, and she wants to play, watch movies and go out to eat with them.
When she’s asked the most important thing she wants others to know about her, Jayla says, “I am kind, and I really love Jesus.” One of her close adults adds, “Jayla is loving and caring. She loves to make people smile and is very funny. Jayla has a smile that lights up the room. She is one of the most resilient children I have ever met and can be a joy to be around.”
Jayla wants a forever family with a mom and dad. Her new parents should be experienced and trauma informed. They should be patient and consistent, and they must make sure Jayla gets the services she needs to thrive. Jayla would benefit from being the only child in her new family. Finally, Jayla prefers a family who has pets.
