About Jordan
MEET JORDAN: A STAR AT THE TOP
For Jordan, an entrée other than turkey along with mistletoe helps to make the season bright.
When we spoke to this intriguing young man, “The Christmas Song” resonated with the approaching holidays, so we asked him a few either/or holiday-related and other questions such as “turkey or ham?”
“Fried chicken!” says Jordan instead. “I just love fried chicken especially when it’s crunchy!”
As the questioning continued with thoughts of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, we discovered that Jordan could be the most likely one in his family to don a Santa hat and possibly sing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
What do you love most about Christmas?
“Everything.”
Pumpkin or apple pie?
“Pumpkin pie with whipped cream.”
Do you like giving or receiving more?
“Giving because I like to be kind. I do like receiving, though.”
Jordan especially likes receiving on the football field. Playing wide receiver is his favorite position when he participates in one of his favorite sports. “I’m good at making plays,” he says – possibly dreaming of a Heisman Trophy pose in his football future.
Jordan likes basketball, too. “I’ve been playing basketball since I was four years old,” he says. “It’s like a hobby to me.”
Of all the basketball stars, Jordan looks up to the late Kobe Bryant the most – “he’s a very positive man” – and on the pro football side, he enjoys watching the moves, the passing and the poise of Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“He’s just a good quarterback, he runs very fast, and he has good moves,” says Jordan, then he sounds an optimistic note for Detroit fans. “I heard he might be going to the Lions.”
You might call Jordan a lionhearted young man for his determination to put his best foot forward. Nice gym shoes and stylish clothes are important to him, and he takes pride in how he looks.
When we shifted the interview back to either/or questions, we should’ve anticipated Jordan’s answer to creamy or crunchy peanut butter based on his chicken preference. And his sweet thoughts behind giving vs. receiving should’ve tipped us off that he’d prefer the sweetness of cornbread over rolls at the dinner table.
One thing that would really be sweet for Jordan is a forever family. He’s not too particular about the makeup of his new family, and he wants them to know that he’s a kind and caring young man.
“Family is important to Jordan,” adds one of his close adults.
