About the Siblings
Jamauri is a creative and talented young man who takes particular pride in his drawing, as well he should. Drawing is Jamauri’s favorite thing to do after school and on weekends, and when he gets older, he hopes to put his talent to work by becoming an animator or an artist. Jamauri gets practice for his future occupation while attending his art class, which is his favorite subject in school. In addition to drawing, Jamauri likes playing video games, reading books and watching TV. On his list of favorite things, Jamauri includes tacos for food, red for color and Komodo dragon for animal. He says Christmas and Halloween are his favorite holidays, which he enjoys celebrating by decorating and eating well. Jamauri loves spending time with his friends and playing games with them. Once he finds his future forever family, Jamauri wants to celebrate by playing games together. And true to his creativity, he hopes they’ll do some a drawing together.
Pass Quanzel some sharp-looking sunglasses and sit him in a fancy ride, then point him in the direction of Illinois with Chicago included on his mobile map. He’s all in for a trip to the Windy City because it’s his dream destination. “It has all the rappers,” says Quanzel. Making an album just might be in Quanzel’s future, too, since he hopes to become a rapper when he gets older. For now, he’ll settle for being an ordinary young man who likes playing video games. Quanzel also likes drawing and watching TV. He loves spending time with friends talking and playing games together. On his list of favorites, Quanzel says he likes nachos, the color purple and dogs, and gym is his favorite class in school. In addition to traveling to Chi-town, Quanzel dreams of being wealthy, owning a video game system and “growing out my hair,” he says. Quanzel also wishes for a forever family so they can have fun and watch TV and play games together.
“Jamauri can be quiet at first, but once he warms up to people, he is outgoing and congenial,” says one of the adults who cares about him most. “Jamauri is a sweet kid who’s friendly, funny, caring and thoughtful.” Jamauri also is described as laidback, well-mannered and helpful.
“Quanzel is a polite child who likes to play outside,” says one of the adults closest to him. “He is well-mannered and can be helpful. Quanzel is a curious, creative and artistic boy. He has a quiet sense of humor, but he loves to tease his siblings.”
A forever family must be willing to adopt Jamauri and Quanzel together. They would do best with one or two experienced, understanding and patient parent(s). Their new parents should be trauma informed and strong advocates for the services that will help Jamauri and Quanzel thrive. Their new forever family should be open to letting the children maintain their close relationship with their sister.
