James is a soft-hearted, family oriented teenage boy who has dreams of joining the military and working hard to provide for himself and his family. James is described as sweet, well-meaning, good kid who has a habit of inserting himself into situations in the defense of others. James has many varied interests and is a big fan of – among other things – video games, anime, the T.V. show Supernatural, weightlifting, baseball, blacksmithing, and dogs.
James likes to claim that he is a lone wolf who prefers to be by himself, but in the presence of those he is familiar with, he visibly brightens and becomes a chatty social butterfly. James is anything except a picky eater and enjoys both eating and cooking food, often exhibiting a desire to learn new cooking techniques and skills. He describes himself as a “country boy” and has a matching love of southern comfort food and no fear of getting dirty.
James is in middle school and requires academic support to be successful. He has been a great self-advocate for how he learns best, including making clear that he learns best from an in-person teacher. James also requires support in developing everyday life skills but does express being open to learning in a desire to become successful in the future.
James is seeking a stable, loving connection with a family that can love his various dimensions. He will need a family that can exhibit patience, commitment, consistency, and understanding. James has a strong attachment to his fictive and biological families. While those individuals are not able to take placement of James, James would benefit from the support of a family who would allow James to remain in contact with them.
