About Joshua
Chances are better than average that Josh will have you saying, “oh my gosh!” But in a good way! This likeable and lively lad loves to make others laugh, but he also likes to comfort them. “He has a big heart and will let you know that he cares deeply for other people,” says one of Josh’s close adults. When he’s not caring for others or bringing joy to them, Josh finds time for himself. Playing video games and building things with Legos represent two of Josh’s favorite things to do. He loves playing, and he enjoys being outside, especially after school. “Joshua is a very outdoorsy child and would much rather spend time exploring nature,” says one of his close adults. “He loves to whittle wood and creates some interesting pieces. He also likes throwing a football around and playing catch.” On his list of favorite things, Josh includes red for color, dog for animal and pizza or hotdogs on the grill for food. His favorite after-school activity is relaxing, and his favorite weekend activity is sleeping in. Josh’s favorite holidays are Thanksgiving and Christmas, which he enjoys celebrating by eating good food and opening presents. Because he such an outdoorsy guy, Josh hopes for a forever family who likes going camping and spending time in nature.
“Josh is a great kid with a big heart!” says one of his close adults. “He is an independent child who he can be helpful around the house. Overall Josh is sweet, likeable and silly and has a good imagination.”
His new family needs to be fierce advocates to make sure Josh gets the services that will help him function at his best. Josh’s new parents should be experienced and trauma informed as well as understanding and patient with his transition into the home. Josh loves animals – especially dogs – so he prefers a family who has pets.
