About Zaahir
Zaahir is a witty, outgoing, and polite young man who is hoping to find his forever family. He describes himself as helpful, confident, a leader and friendly. Zaahir is someone who likes having responsibilities, enjoys hands-on tasks, helping others and coming up with ways to stay active. Zaahir does not like to sit around and do nothing. In his free time, he likes playing football and lacrosse, going for walks, socializing with peers, playing video games and watching “Chicago P.D.” Zaahir recently completed the 10th grade and enjoys going to school. He loves mac and cheese, learning how to cook simple meals, and would like the opportunity to learn how to cook some more of his favorites. His current goal is to obtain part time employment during the summer.
Zaahir would prefer his forever home to have a strong/positive male role model. He would love to be an only child, but would also do well with older more independent siblings (possibly adult children in the family) and may do especially well with older brothers. Zaahir appreciates having his own room. An ideal family would be active, play sports, allow him to help with odd jobs and tasks around the house and take trips. He also enjoys down time, so a family who is the perfect mix of both could be a great fit. Zaahir says he is neutral about pets in the home. Zaahir is a resilient teen who remains positive and hopeful for his permanency dream of adoption to come true.
Zaahir has a positive relationship with his grandfather, who he has regular contact with, and would want to maintain this relationship after an adoption. He has said that no matter where he is, he always wants to be connected to his grandfather. He may also want to re-kindle his relationship with his mother.
Zaahir said, “I need a family that can provide me with lots of structure and can support my desires and dreams. I am willing and open to moving away from my current location and experiencing life in the country or suburbs. I would really like a family that will take me horseback riding or to be close to a farm, so I can learn how to care for the animals. I am great with chores and love to keep things organized, as that is how I function best. I would really like my future home to have a backyard and access to a pool so I can go swimming with family and friends, but it’s not a deal breaker. Most of all, I just want to feel loved and accepted, and to be raised by a stable and supportive family.”
Parental rights have been terminated for Zaahir.
