About the Siblings
Laquan has a big smile that can warm anyone’s heart. He is very creative, drawing scenes and characters that coincide with the monster and alien books he reads for pleasure. Laquan is an active athlete who plays different sports like basketball, football and loves to go bowling. He is a Steelers football fan and tries to watch as many games on television as possible. He likes to play video games and watch movies. Laquan does very well in school and likes math and science. He is a good listener and is a helpful person. Laquan communicates his feelings well and does not let his wants go unknown. When Laquan wants to relax, he does word search puzzles, listens to music, takes long walks or plays his Game Boy. Laquan enjoys talking to adults, getting special attention from them. He is very close with his brother, Raheem, and looks out for his little brother when they are together. He tends to be cautious in new situations. A family would need to be understanding of Laquan’s difficult past and experience of loss. The boys would benefit from extended visitation period and time to learn the house rules prior to moving into their adoptive home.
Raheem is a sweet, polite, and affectionate child. He is very outgoing and friendly. He gets along well with his peers and is very helpful. Raheem loves animals, especially dogs. He enjoys taking his dog for long walks and is in the process of trying to train him to do tricks. His favorite football team is the Steelers and would love to go to see a live game with you. If you let him, I am sure he would decorate his bedroom in Steelers paraphernalia. Aside from playing sports, he enjoys video games and watching television. Raheem is very good at completing crossword puzzles, even finding those words spelled backwards. He is a good eater, finishing all of his meat and veggies on his dinner plate. In school, he has a positive attitude to learn new skills. His teachers recognize how much effort he puts into trying his best in subjects like math and reading. Raheem requires much attention and love from a family. He is very bonded to his older brother, Laquan, and they would need to be adopted in the same home. They will require an extended transition period to visit with their new family prior to being place in their adoptive home.
