The Smith Family

After having one birth child, we wanted more children. We had space in our home – yet more importantly - in our hearts. After much prayer and wise counsel, God swung the door wide open and our journey of blessings began. What a journey it has been! What a privilege! Our family, friends, pastor and neighbors all had such positive feedback and encouragement for us.

We found our children with the assistance of DHR and through the AdoptUsKids website. Our homestudy was through a public agency. We have adopted six children.

Each year, the week before Christmas, we go to the beach to get away from the hustle & bustle that the holiday season brings. We focus on the real reason for the season. We also celebrate Gotcha Day.

We have been surprised at how “normal” it has been to build our family through adoption. Older children are such blessings and need homes just as much as infants.
