If you are just starting the adoption process:

• Read through the seven-steps for getting started
• Find out if you’re eligible to become a site member of AdoptUsKids so you can start making inquiries on available children
  • If you’re eligible, create a profile by completing our member registration for families (please note a homestudy is required to register)
  • If you’re not eligible, request to be contacted by a foster and adoption advocate from your state so you can start the process
• Meet the children on AdoptUsKids who are in foster care and available for adoption
• Find out about other children available for adoption by reviewing regional and state-specific photolistings
• Use our interactive map of adoption and foster care guidelines for information about the adoption and foster care process that is specific to your state

If you’re already registered with AdoptUsKids:

• Login to your account and make sure your information is up-to-date (you can reset your password if you forgot it)
• Contact us if you’re having trouble using the website or have any other questions that haven’t been answered
• Get in-touch with your caseworker to find out about local events where you can meet children in your area who are available for adoption
• Raise awareness of the need for foster and adoptive parents like yourself by telling people about the You Don’t Have to be Perfect to be a Perfect Parent campaign
• Share your adoption or foster care story with us by emailing family@adoptuskids.org (please include in your first and last name, phone number and best time to reach you)
• Volunteer to be one of our media spokes families by reading our Media Guide for Families (1.6 MB PDF) and emailing use at family@adoptuskids.org
