Standards for Links

AdoptUsKids.org offers a national database of children awaiting adoption and families approved to adopt. An initiative of the Children's Bureau, it is being operated by the Adoption Exchange Association. It is our intention to provide the best and most useful information possible for the adoption community.


Outbound Links

AdoptUsKids and/or the Adoption Exchange Association is not responsible for the contents of any linked site, any changes or updates on linked sites, or any links contained within those sites.


We link to:

  • Websites of a wide range of established Federal, state, and non-profit child welfare related organizations throughout the United States.
  • Non-profit organizations offering information, reference material and resources regarding the well-being, safety and care of children.
  • Government agencies, educational facilities, medical entities, mental health providers and legal programs.

We do not link to:

  • Websites that misrepresent children, adoption and/or the adoption process in any way
  • Websites that are morbid, sensational, or trivializing
  • Websites whose primary purpose is to promote individual personal home pages
  • Commercial websites or sites charging fees for services
  • Websites that do not provide accurate up-to-date information
  • Websites which have sexually explicit content or references
  • Websites that disparage our agencies, laws, polices or procedures

We encourage other sites to link to AdoptUsKids.org

  • Links may be text-based, using the words "AdoptUsKids" exactly as shown.
  • If you wish to include our logo on your site, please send an e-mail to info@adoptuskids.org. Include your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and your URL.
  • We will review and acknowledge each request, and at that time may grant permission to use copyrighted or trademarked graphic images we provide.
  • You may not, without express permission, use the AdoptUsKids logo or any other trademarks as a link to AdoptUsKids.
  • Displaying a link with AdoptUsKids on your website does not guarantee that we will display your link on AdoptUsKids.org.
  • We request that any link with AdoptUsKids be used in an appropriate manner, in keeping with a positive and practical view of adoption and waiting children.
