About the Siblings
These boys are adamant that they are a package deal no matter what. They feel very sad at not being able to live with their sister who requires more specialized care. Alex (10/98) greeted us at the car with his big smile and was very welcoming even as he stated his reluctance to leave his foster home for an adoptive one. He has been in his present placement long enough to need some transition time in leaving it. His favorite subject is Math, but his favorite part of school is lunch, because ‘the meals are all tasty!’ Social studies is worst for him. Alex’s passions are Bey Blades, Yugioh, Bakugan and Poke`mon. He wants to be an inventor for Bey Blades when he grows up. He loves Mr. Gatti’s and Chuck E. Cheese, cantaloupe, sweet potato fries, strawberry ice cream and the color blue. He likes Chihuahua and can sometimes be afraid of snakes if they are poisonous. Alex says he’s also really good at video games and considers himself a Bey Blade Master. He likes rock ‘n roll and contemporary Christian music especially Awesome God. Alex says he wants an adoptive family who is “ rich, has a kid my age who likes Bey Blades, Yugioh, Bakugan, and Poke`mon. They also need to be loving kindhearted, generous, with a big home in the country. He particularly has to have a Mom and a nice Dad. Alex says he will be respectful, generous, kindhearted, thoughtful, handsome, very good and he talks a lot especially about his feelings. After our talk, he was still a little scared, worried and sad about adoption because anything new and unknown makes him feel this way. He wants his adoptive family to know that his favorite type of soup is Chicken Noodle.
Cody (10/02) was quieter than his brother upon first meeting. His anxiety at leaving his foster placement of three years was evident but at the end of the meeting he said he was happy about adoption because he was ‘gonna get a new permanent home’. Cody is in the gifted range at school and makes straight A’s. He loves Art and is good at Math and Spelling. The best part of school for him is Art getting to play hockey in gym. Cody’s worst part of school is Science and Social Studies. Cody’s favorites are dinosaurs, birds, because he likes their color; and all things military. He has lots of cowboys and Indians, army men and equipment and likes to plan battles with them. He likes to eat at Mr. Gatti’s and Chuck E. Cheese and Pizza Inn or any pizza place that serves pepperoni, sausage and especially cheese pizza. He loves cheese, chocolate and vanilla ice cream and any church as long as they have a kids’ class. He likes the songs: Party in the USA and Awesome God. Cody describes himself as caring, polite, helpful and honest. He has a cute smile, a cleft chin and big beautiful eyes that show his emotions. Cody’s ideal family is loving, caring, lets him have his toys and allowance, and doesn't mind if his room is ‘not too messy’. He wants a Mom and a Dad. He wants continued contact with his birth family.
These two boys are all each other has. They need to be together. They need a family that is not too large and one that has lots of time and attention to give each of them. Patience and structure is also a must for the family who is blessed enough help these boys grow to manhood. They also need a family where they are the youngest children.
