About the Siblings
Attention sport lovers! This awesome sibling set of two brothers is seeking an experienced and patient family who want to have an active life! Playing basketball, football, or soccer are just a few of the many sports 13 year old Daquan and eight year old Kyirell wish to share with a family. The boys have a lot of fun with one another and are very protective of each other.
A great sense of humor, loving to tell jokes and keeping people entertained are a few of the ways in which Daquan will amuse his family. He loves to cook with his foster mom; and competing in chili "cook-offs" is a way they enjoy spending time together. Daquan receives special education supports in his seventh grade classroom. Although he is at a first grade level in all educational areas, he tries hard at school and willingly works on his homework with the help of his foster mom. Daquan will qualify for services from the Department of Developmental Disabilities into adulthood. He currently receives assistance with his daily living skills and seeks help from adults when needed. Daquan is very outgoing and loves to make new friends.
"All boy!" is a great way to described Kyirell. In addition to sports, he loves to play video games and do gymnastics. He is active and friendly and loves to be outside jumping on the trampoline. Kyirell is a 3rd grade, regular education student. He sometimes struggles with his reading, but he works very hard and is on grade level. He is very close to his brother Daquan and likes to play games with him.
Daquan and Kyirell will bring both joy and individual challenges to a family. These resilient children attend trauma based therapy to assist them in understanding their life experiences and help them on their path to becoming independent young men. They maintain a positive sibling relationship with two of their other brothers, and this will need to continue. A two-parent family with a lot of natural supports in their lives will be the best match for the boys.
