Forrest is a handsome, funny, delightful, young man with sandy brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a great sense of humor and is fun to spend time with. Forrest is solidly built and tall for his age. Forrest was born in July 1997. He is a finishing up his sophomore year in high school at a day treatment program due to emotional and educational issues and is making excellent progress. Forrest’s strengths are that he is good at working with his hands; he is also helpful and likes to please others. He is a leader at his school. He is good with kids with autism being exposed to that in the school he is attending. Forrest loves his school, especially summer school when they do fun activities. He loves to ride his bike, go fishing, play his video games and go to the lake/ocean and skip rocks. He enjoys snowboarding, swimming and playing board games like chess, battle ship and checkers. His favorite activity is playing in magic tournaments (a card game) when they are held.
Forrest would love to have an active adoptive family who will do things with him like take him swimming, go out to eat and to movies, or watch movies at home and play video games and board games with him. He has done significant traveling with his present foster parent.
Forrest does have contact with his grandfather, birth parents and his older sisters. He does not want to lose contact with his relatives.
Forrest and his siblings entered care in 2004 and parental rights were terminated in 2006. Forrest does require a high level of supervision.
Forrest is personable, outgoing, and engaging. Forrest really wants a family who will love him and remain committed to him. He has had numerous moves, though has been very stable for 2 years in his present foster home. He hopes that through adoption he will not have to move again. He would enjoy having a foster sibling his age to do things with, but it should be someone who is able to speak up for themselves. He would be available for adoption subsidy if needed.
