English Narrative: Meet Malinah!!Friendly, bright, and creative are just a few words that can be used to describe Malinah. She likes to sing, dance, listen to music and experiment with makeup. Malinah is very social and enjoys interacting with her peers. She is able to hold conversation about various topics that interest her and never meets a stranger. Some of her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and cheeseburgers. Malinah has strong communication skills and understands how to advocate for herself when needed. She has expressed a desire to become a social worker, so she is able to help other young girls like herself. Malinah’s ideal family would be able to accept her fully for who she is and provide her with structure and support. Malinah will benefit from experienced parents who have gone through trauma training and are willing and committed to continue their education. Malinah has experienced many disappointments by adults and will need time to trust that an adoptive family will stand by her no matter what. The family must be prepared to prioritize her needs as they provide for Malinah’s educational, social, and emotional growth and development. Malinah does best with structure, clear expectations, firm limits, and lots of one-on-one attention. Malinah also has birth family connections that will need to be maintained. Malinah would be a great addition to the right home and just wants to feel loved, supported and accepted. |
